Surprise Party

Mid-February was Martin's birthday and in the weeks before I organized a surprise party for him. It's not that easy when you're together 24/7. For a good result I used the help of the marina staff, because "locals" know where to get what at which price. Since Marrtin's birthday fell on a Friday and a holiday, our Mexican friends wanted to go home for the weekend earlier, we organized the celebration at lunch time.
Decorations were bought, a cake ordered, cutlery, mugs and plates procured, and of course Mexican tortillas, meat with salsa and vegetables surved.
It was a great surprise. The group of well-wishers consisted partly of sailors and people from the marina. We were a total of 25 people and Martin had no idea that everyone knew about his party.

All gifts were well thought out and useful. A bottle of rum was opened right away, the delicious nuts were almost eaten, only the great poem is preserved forever. Thank you Kay!

Taiko is a rare seabird

not many people get to view

Ueberraschungsparty

Mitte Februar war Martins Geburtstag und in den Wochen davor habe ich eine Überraschungsparty für ihn organisiert. Das ist nicht so einfach, wenn man 24 Std am Tag, 7 Tage die Woche zusammen ist. Für ein gutes gelingen habe ich die Hilfe von den Mitarbeitern der Marina in Anspruch genommen, denn „Locals“ wissen, wo was und zu welchem Preis was besorgen ist. Da Marrtin's Geburtstag auf einen Freitag gefallen ist und unsere mexikanischen Freunde ins Wochenende wollten, haben wir die Feier zur Lunch-time organisiert.

Dekoration wurde gekauft, eine Torte bestellt, Besteck, Becher und Teller beschafft und natürlich mexikanisch Tortilla, Fleisch mit Salsa und Gemüse besorgt.

Es war eine gelungene Überraschung. Die Gruppe der Gratulanten bestand zum Teil aus Segler und aus Leuten aus der Marina. Insgesamt waren wir 25 Personen und Martin hat keine Ahnung, dass alle von seiner Party wussten.

Alle Geschenke waren gut durchdacht und nützlich. Eine Flasche Rum wurde gleich angebrochen, Die leckeren Nüsse wurden fast aufgegessen, nur das tolle Gedicht bleibt uns ewig erhalten.
